My first pair of Jordan's ever in my life was the varsity red and white Jordan Spizikes! I got them for my birthday a long time ago. I don't remember how long ago it was, but I was in the fourth grade when I got them. I had to beg my mom for them for at least a week. She didn't want me to get them because obviously I'm going to ruin them within like two weeks. But that's what kids do when they get new shoes. They wear them on the playground running around in the dirt and wet grass. After I finally convinced my mom to get them for me, she got them for me the day before my birthday. When I first got them I thought I was the coolest kid in elementary school because I had by far the nicest Jordan's ever. But now I see pictures of my first pair of Jordan's, I kind of think they're ugly. I'm not going to lie but I think those shoes were fake because I bought them for $50, but hey they were still pretty cool to me back then. Now however, I have a totally different taste in shoes.

These shoes are on the more expensive side, but well worth it. The whole concept of these sneakers first started off in 1984 when Michael Jordan started his NBA career. Ever since, Nike released their first Air Jordan model, everyone wanted them. In those days, these sneakers were about $30, but I would say that today they are about $185 retail!! The prices have gone up tremendously because of all the hypebeast. Hypebeast are people who just buy shoes just to impress or show off to their friends because they were talking about the shoes for the past week. For the people who really want them because they genuinely like the shoes, because they remember back when MJ used to ball in those shoes they are more expensive and many times hard to get. So, for the people who actually want the shoes they can't get them because of all the hypebeast buying them all. Another thing is some people just buy the shoes just to resell them for like twice as much money so they'll make more cash. There's a limited supply of retro Jordan's at every release date. I think the Jordan brand does this because they don't want everyone to have a pair. If they're limited then everyone won't have a pair the price will stay high. They want to make money. |
